ARCH1202 Project 1
Concertina Book
The drawings in the concertina book are mainly my perceptions such as sight, sound and touch, Parramatta had given me rather than analysis according to some related societal and historical research and statistics.
Stage Design for Parramatta
The concept of the stage came from the idea of the existence of Aboriginal culture in the indigenous land of Parramatta. Aboriginal culture originates from the head of the Parramatta river where the name of "Parramatta" came from. The balsa rods inside the stage represent the Aboriginal musical instruments- didgeridoo, which are the symbols of the Aboriginal culture. The rods (Aboriginal culture) placed inside the transparent stage (river) is a reflection of how Aboriginal culture originates and submerged in the river. The bridge on the stage is Lennox Bridge, the stoned arch bridge, in Parramatta which reveals the historical significance of the suburb.
